Personal Training
Fitness Matters, Inc. (aka Tracie the Trainer) offers private strength training to individual clients with an emphasis on core strengthening, balance and plyometrics. The workouts are unique, individualized, and designed to challenge you on all levels. We do this by not only making your muscles stronger in a variety of ways, but getting you fitter overall. Our workouts won’t have a singular benefit.
My philosophy is simple: “fitness comes with dedication and discipline”. I believe in making every workout an intense, challenging and fulfilling experience. The way I see it, clients come to me to help them achieve and learn what they can’t do on their own.
Training is in my boutique, custom studio located in Arlington, VA. The studio feels like a “real” gym but the workouts come free of an audience or the distractions and noise of a big box facility.
The type of training I do is “functional training.” It is core focused, heavy on balance exercises and designed to strengthen all the essential muscles in your body- especially the small stabilizers. Why functional training? Because it is fitness that trains your muscles not just to lift heavy weights, but heavy furniture or bags. Because it helps you do life better. There’s nothing more empowering than knowing your body is capable of hard things.
As part of our training relationship I offer nutrition counseling (this is wrapped into your fee). I believe we have the power to transform our bodies through fitness and nutrition; it’s not about what we take out, but what we do with our movement and what we put in our bodies. I focus on fueling your body with real foods that give you energy, reduce inflammation and move you toward a stronger, leaner, healthier body.
What’s different about Tracie the Trainer? Results. Results that you have never been able to achieve and maintain before, either alone or with another trainer.
Nutriton Consulting
I offer nutrition specific (only) consulting to clients as well. My goal when I work with clients on their nutrition is to optimize their health and do so in a balanced, sustainable way. I am a firm believer that everyone has the power to take control of their health and can reshape the way they think about nutrition. My goal is to help you create lifelong behavioral changes.
